Hi guys! I hope your week is going well! Yesterday the fiancé and I went to Barrio Antiguo (old street) to walk around and check it out. It’s such a cool street with hidden gems all around and the history of this street is pretty interesting.
Barrio Antiguo is Monterrey’s oldest area in town and used to be regarded as the center of Monterrey’s hip nightlife. It flourished with many hotels, museums, international restaurants and inside patios with unique architecture. I am not entirely sure, but around seven years ago or so there was a war between the drug cartel and authorities. What was known as Monterrey’s go-to hip area turned into an abandoned and almost entirely deserted place. Now, construction is in the works as Monterrey is restructuring and trying to bring back what once was a lively, colorful and cultural place.
Aside from the small history lesson, lets talk fashion shall we? 🙂 I’ve been excited to transition my summer wardrobe into fall. Maybe it’s because I get an excuse to go shopping haha, but I love wearing boots, sweaters and the idea of cuddling next to a fireplace with some hot chocolate…yes please! I do love an all black outfit, but it is still a but too hot for that at the moment so I have found myself drawing more towards neutral tones. Also, neutrals are great staple colors that can be warn all year round, see my spring post here.
