I am finally getting around to posting our engagement photos! Honestly the day was a bit crazy, there was so much traffic coming from LA, my hair ended up being a bit too curly for my liking and because of the traffic we were chasing the sun. Although, on the other hand, with Luis’ crazy schedule, we didn’t even think we were going to be able to take engagement photos. Thanks to our awesome photographer Mirelle Carmichael it ended up working out perfectly.
I am really happy we were able to take them in the city we first met, Santa Barbara. Luis and I unexpectedly met in college at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2009. The first time we decided to hang out with each other we decided to go for a run on the beach. So it I loved how we were able to take our engagement photos at the same place we had our first hang out (minus the running clothes).
As far as our outfits go, I was deciding between two dresses. The dress I am wearing in the pictures and this one. Since these photos are intimate and romantic, I wanted our outfits to portray that, but also when looking back at these photos years from now I didn’t want to have that moment of “what the heck was I wearing” haha. Both of the dresses I was choosing from gave that romantic vibe, but I am glad I went with the one I am wearing because it went with the sunset perfectly!
We are getting married in June and the wedding is coming up so quickly, but we both can’t wait and are super excited to enjoy our day with loved ones! I will be posting more wedding stuff along the way, I hope you enjoy the ride with me!
[…] Wedding inspiration from all over the internet (especially Pinterest) definitely helped me in the direction of how Luis and I wanted our wedding to turn out. Since Luis is from Mexico I wanted to incorporate a spanish vibe while also giving it a traditional american vibe. I forget who told me, but in the middle of all our planning someone mentioned I was a “classic” type of bride. With that in mind and as we wait for our awesome photos of our big day, I wanted to share some wedding inspiration that helped me with our decor. The vibe we went for was “spanish romantic meets chic” (basically a made up vibe, but the vibe we went for haha!). You can also check out our awesome engagement photos here in this post! […]
